JING’s Two New Spring Teas Capture the Season’s Freshest Tea Buds and Leaves

Each spring as the first tender tea buds and leaves awaken after winter, JING carefully selects the finest handpicked, highly prized leaves from the early spring tea harvest that captures the freshest, greenest notes of the season. Renowned for its exceptional tasting teas with incredible origin stories, JING has two new limited spring tea releases, Baojing Gold, a rare, umami-rich sweet meadow tasting tea from Xiangmiao Garden, Hunan in China and Organic Darjeeling First Flush Supreme, an uplifting and crisp infusion from Singbulli Estate, Darjeeling, India.

Sourced from single tea estates, both teas are handled with great care to ensure their subtle and intricate flavours, which are impossible to recreate at any other time of the year, shine through.

JING Baojing Gold
Single Garden Green Tea
Delicate with graceful umami and meadow-sweetness from Xiangmiao Garden, Hunan, China

Available from jingtea.com, £54.10 for 50g

Rarely available in the UK, Baojing Gold is a sought after green tea that has been carefully crafted for JING from the mountainous region of Western Hunan in China and grown by Tea Master, Shi Zehong. Once gifted to an Emperor, it’s named after a bar of solid gold that was given to a local Baojing woman in the 16th Century who cured sick visiting military officials with tea she had picked from her centuries-old tea trees. The highest quality leaves and tenderest buds have been selected from the harvest in March, giving this refreshing umami-rich tea its pure and fresh spring garden fragrance.

JING Organic Darjeeling First Flush Supreme
Single Garden Black Tea
Crisp and quenching with zesty spring freshness from Singbulli Estate, Darjeeling, India

Available from jingtea.com, £27.75 for 50g

Working closely with tea producer Jeevan Tamang, JING’s Organic Darjeeling First Flush Supreme is sourced from one of the region’s highest tea gardens. Its slopes face the snow-capped Himalayas where a cold breeze encourages a slow growth of leaves, creating a tea of exceptional and layered floral aromas and flavour. Carefully selected to express the unique Darjeeling terroir, this thirst quenching first flush has an uplifting zesty freshness and high floral aroma that leads to a crisp fruitiness and is perfect as a late morning or afternoon pick-me-up.

The tea of choice in many of the world’s top hotels and restaurants including The Connaught, Raffles Singapore, Mandarin Oriental, Marriott on the Palm, Bulgari and Sketch, it’s the origin stories and flavours of JING’s tea that really sets them apart.
